In 2024, as part of the EU-funded programme “Civic Horizons”, Awan was contracted to conduct a multi-country rapid capacity assessment of 197 civil society organizations across Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Tunisia, Libya, and Morocco, using a structured methodology that combined organizational mapping and field-driven inquiry.

Awan also conducted a comprehensive needs assessment for Journalists for Human Rights (JHR)  on the impact of the 2024 war on Lebanon on journalists’ wellbeing, safety, livelihoods, and professional constraints.

These engagements demonstrate Awan’s ability to design evidence-based assessment tools, gather and analyze data across diverse stakeholder groups, and translate findings into actionable plans.
